Our story

Patricia Tripotin

A story that lives on through the joy of giving pleasure and the people we meet

After a long career supporting entrepreneurs and promoting tourism, Patricia set out on her own entrepreneurial adventure in June 2023. She took over Chocolats Frigoulette at a time of great financial fragility, surrounding herself with partners and experts from a range of fields.

The aims are shared: to “save the artisan know-how” and the jobs, to position the Chocolats Frigoulette brand at the top end of the market, to make it shine in the local area and right across France, and, of course, to bring it back to a stable financial footing.

“Even though I had no particular taste for chocolate before the takeover, I knew that Chocolats Frigoulette chocolate was of great quality, with unique flavours. That is what convinced me! My family and friends, my customers, my suppliers and my team made me realise how rare our chocolate is, and how exceptional its aromatic standards are. Over time, I have trained my palate to appreciate “good chocolate”, and that is what I want to share with chocolate lovers. Through this takeover, I was determined to keep alive the story of Bernard Xueref, whom I admire. He started out at 65, the age of retirement, and left me a rich gourmet legacy at 80.

In my turn, I want to flourish through pleasure by giving pleasure… and what better way to do it than with good chocolate.”

    Born of a meeting

Our gourmet treats were born from a meeting in 2009 between Bernard Xueref, an organic farming specialist, and Paul Keruel, a chocolate maker. It was a wonderful human adventure, championing responsible food and fair trade. We developed single-origin chocolates using just one bean from a single origin, São Tomé and Príncipe: the best in the world. Our chocolates contain no animal fat and are gluten-free. Our gourmet range offers pure pleasure with chocolates that are good for you: dark chocolate bars with ginger or candied orange and lavender chocolates share the limelight with praline truffles, papillotes, mendiants with dried fruit, and chocolate with exotic fruits or spirits…
